Oh, yeah. I think he perceived the feeder as covering up the cake, and was trying to pull it away to get unobstructed access to the food, not realizing how those two things fit together. He definitely looked frustrated, pulling the feeder away from, then banging it into, the pole, and lunging with his beak. He finally managed to break off a big chunk, and carried it away to eat elsewhere.
