common_natureI'm told it's the seed pod of a form of iris:
This plant likes damp, shady spots and is prolific locally.
A silversmith friend has asked permission to use this one to create a piece of jewellery:
We're having a very damp Autumn and the fungi are loving it!
Marsh grass on a temporary pool:
Lichen and stump:
This stump has so much character!
Not a strange creature but a sweet chestnut husk lying close to some lichen.
