For a few weeks early this month we had overcast skies and a lot of fog, some of it only breaking for a few hours in early afternoon and then returning.
In fact, I can't recall a time when I ever saw so much of it, day after day. Made for some pretty views though.
What to watch for is places where you can see things, such as trees, scattered along the line of sight toward the horizon. Because the near ones are less fuzzed-out than the far ones, it helps to create that layered effect of gauzy-looking fog.
