We have learned to recognize his chirps when he's on our balcony. There are three of them, I think. One has a very bold red band, then there's this one which is not as large, and then another one whose colors are quite faint and mostly yellow.
Poor birds! I'm leaving my tube feeder up through the summer with millet and cracked corn, so the House Sparrows (as well as others) can easily keep their strength up while they hunt for bugs for their babies.
