I liked the look of this sunset, with the contrail looking like a comet. What follows is an assortment of pics from past months.

When we saw this cloud the on the horizon, my partner said it looked like Thanos was reaching out for us.

Date: 2024-10-26 08:55 pm (UTC)This put me at periodic risk of dive-bombing by the local robins: a good nesting season can yield three broods, and they considered that tree prime real estate. (One possible reason was the fine dining potential: the guy in charge of maintenance preferred a manual push lawnmower—-nice and quiet, and an entourage of birds would trail him to glean the exposed bugs and worms.)

Date: 2024-10-26 09:32 pm (UTC)Interesting to hear about the robins. We had 3 different robin's nests on our balcony over several years. Given they were nesting in our plant pots (as were mourning doves, and for a few broods, a duck!) my partner had to go out to the balcony regularly to water and care for the plants, or for us to add food to the hummingbird feeder or get things out of the outdoor closet. We never had any problems with them. They seemed, in fact, to ignore us and would arrive to feed the babies if we were there or not.
